The number of browser users was determined by the Atlas VPN team using a formula that divided the total number of internet users provided by Internet World Stats by 100 and multiplied it by the GlobalStats browser market share percentage. GlobalStats derives its browser market share data from analyzing over 5 billion monthly page views across more than 1.5 million websites.
It’s important to note that these calculations are estimates based on available information, and the actual number of users may differ. Google Chrome holds a staggering user base of nearly 3.4 billion, solidifying its position as the most popular browser worldwide. Chrome owes its success to a combination of robust features, a user-friendly interface, and seamless integration with Google services. Apple’s Safari browser achieved a significant milestone last year, surpassing 1 billion users. In the subsequent year, it continued its growth to reach an impressive user base of 1.1 billion. Over the past year, the Opera browser has experienced a 40% increase in its user base, rising from 109 million to 152 million users. Firefox currently boasts a user base of approximately 150 million.
