Global technology brand HONOR has announced that its latest smartphone, the HONOR X7a, will be coming to South Africa. This new device features a powerful 6,000mAh battery, a 50MP Ultra-clear Quad Camera system, 128GB of storage, and a large 6.74-inch HONOR FullView Display, all at an affordable price.
The X7a’s slim body houses a 6,000mAh battery that the brand says can last up to 3 days on a single charge with typical use, thanks to its Smart Power Saving Technology. This smartphone can support up to 22 hours of video playback, 42 hours of phone calls, 29 hours of music playback, or 20 hours of short video application viewing, making it a reliable companion for those who are constantly on the go. Additionally, with the 22.5W HONOR SuperCharge, the handset can be charged quickly and is able to provide over 10 hours of music streaming with just 30 minutes of charging says the brand.
The X7a also boasts great battery performance, earning the DXOMARK Gold Battery Label and ranking first in the DXOMARK smartphone battery rankings.
In terms of camera capabilities, the X7a features a 50MP Ultra-clear Quad Camera system comprising a 50MP Main Camera, a 5MP Wide Camera, 2MP Macro Camera, and a 2MP Depth Camera.
For media enthusiasts, the device comes with 128GB onboard storage and can be expanded via the 1TB MicroSD card slot.
The X7a has a large 6.74-inch HONOR FullView Display with a 90.07% screen-to-body ratio sporting an HD resolution and 16.7 million colours. Additionally, the display is certified by TÜV Rheinland for low blue light emissions, allowing for extended use without stressing the eyes. The Eye Comfort Mode, eBook Mode, and Dark Mode on the HONOR X7a provide additional display personalisation options for further reducing eye fatigue.
Unfortunately, local pricing and availability dates have not yet been confirmed but considering global pricing, this handset should come in at under R5000 in South Africa, potentially making it one of the most compelling affordable handsets of 2023.
