Volkswagen has announced that the range-topping Polo Vivo GT will be getting a fresh new look, with a number of exterior and interior updates. The Polo Vivo GT is the flagship model of the Polo Vivo range and has proven to be a popular choice among South African car buyers, with close to 120,000 units sold since its launch in 2018.
The refreshed Polo Vivo GT will feature a number of exterior updates, including silver mirror caps, GT rear decal, wheels and dash inserts, as well as GT decals on the front door. The hatchback will also be available in five exterior colours, including a new Wild Cherry Red metallic colour.
The interior of the Polo Vivo GT will also receive updates, with cloth insert and stitch colours changing from blue to red, and new grey stitching on the gear lever and handbrake to tie in with the grey exterior accents. The hatchback will also feature GT embroidered branding on loose lay mats.
In terms of features, the Polo Vivo GT comes standard with 17-inch Mirabeau wheels, a Safety Package, Lights and Vision Package, and a single pipe exhaust with chrome trim. The interior of the car features front sport seats, aluminium-look pedals, Floor Mats (front and rear), and ‘Anthracite’ headlining. Other features include Cruise Control, Lowered suspension (-15mm), and a black tailgate spoiler.
The Polo Vivo GT is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI 81kW engine that offers exciting performance, with a top speed of 196 km/h and 200Nm torque available at 2000rpm. Despite its performance capabilities, the engine has an impressive claimed fuel consumption of 4.6 litres per 100 kilometres.
The refreshed Volkswagen Polo Vivo GT is priced at R332,800 (including VAT and emissions tax) and comes standard with a 3-year / 120,000km warranty and a 6-year anti-corrosion warranty. Optional Volkswagen EasyDrive Maintenance and Service Plans are available, with a service interval of 15,000 km.
