British Airways and Airlink Join Forces to Improve Connectivity

British Airways, the UK’s flagship carrier, and Airlink, the regional airline based in South Africa, have announced a codeshare partnership, which is set to enhance connectivity between the UK, Europe, North America and over 15 destinations in Southern Africa. The agreement will provide a more seamless travel experience for passengers travelling from one of 18 towns and cities in the region, including Windhoek, Durban and Cape Town.

Passengers flying from Cape Town or Johannesburg to London, or vice versa, will now be able to connect to their final destination on a single ticket, offering greater choice and flexibility. The airline currently operates flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town to London Heathrow, with a variety of aircraft, including the A380, B777 and A350.

Members of the British Airways Executive Club loyalty programme will now be able to earn Avios when flying on Airlink flights as part of a British Airways codeshare journey. Avios can be redeemed for Reward Flights, upgrades, hotel stays and more.

The addition of these 18 destinations will significantly expand the airline’s reach in the Southern African region, providing customers with a range of itinerary options and connectivity possibilities. The codeshare tickets can now be booked on the British Airways website, for travel from the 15th of February 2023.
