Apple introduces new yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus

Tech giant Apple has unveiled a new yellow colour option for the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. As is the case with the existing colourways in the 14 and 14 Plus lineup, the new yellow colourway includes all the same specs and features including a durable ceramic shield front cover and safety capabilities like Emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection.

“People love their iPhone and rely on it every day for all that they do, and now there’s an exciting addition to the lineup with a new yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “The extraordinary battery life, lightweight design, pro-level camera and video features, groundbreaking safety capabilities like Emergency SOS via satellite, and all iOS 16 has to offer make iPhone 14 a great option for anyone in the market for a new iPhone.”

The Emergency SOS via satellite feature that debuted on the iPhone 14 series in September 2022 — allowing users to message with emergency services when cellular and Wi-Fi coverage are not available — will come to Austria, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Portugal later this month.

Unlike 2022’s iPhone 13 colour refresh which saw the Alpine Green colourway come to the entire line, including the Pro variants, this year’s colour refresh is strictly reserved for the non-pro iPhones.

Apple also released several new Watch band colours and silicone iPhone cases.

South African availability has not yet been confirmed.
