Samsung has brought two new mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G, to South Africa.
The A series continues to be one of Samsung’s best-selling ranges with the A13 and A03 being the only two Samsung phones to make the list of the top 10 global smartphones of 2022, according to Counterpoint.
Successors to 2022’s Samsung Galaxy A33 and A53 both handsets are expected to become firm favourites amongst local users.

Both handsets sport an FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, however, the A34 has a 6.6-inch display while the A54 has a 6.4-inch display.
Another difference between the two handsets is the camera array. The A34 has a rear-facing 8MP Ultra-Wide Camera + 48MP Main Camera + 5MP Macro Camera setup with a 13MP front-facing camera, while the A54 has a rear-facing 12MP Ultra-Wide Camera + 50MP Main Camera + 5MP Macro Camera setup with a 32MP front-facing camera.
Thankfully both handsets sport a 5000mAh battery and are available in various configurations of 6GB or 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB expandable storage.
Both the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G have 5G connectivity and are compatible with the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem, allowing for seamless connectivity between devices.
Durability is also a key feature of these smartphones as they come with an IP67 rating, allowing both devices the ability to withstand dust and water for up to 30 minutes.
The Galaxy A54 5G (R9 999.00), Galaxy A34 5G (R7 399.00), and Galaxy A14 (R3 799.00) will be available from April 1st in two colour options: Awesome Lime and Awesome Graphite.
The Galaxy A24 will be available in May.
