Land Rover has unveiled upgraded versions of its popular Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Velar SUVs, promising increased luxury and new technology features. The updated models are now available to order in South Africa.
On the outside, both SUVs sport a range of styling tweaks including new super-slim Pixel LED headlights with signature daytime running lights, delivering superior visibility whilst retaining the iconic Range Rover look. The advanced matrix LED technology also aims to reduce glare for other road users. At the rear, chiselled new light graphics and ‘super red’ rear lights further enhance the exterior updates.
It’s inside where the biggest changes have taken place though. Centrestage is an enormous 11.4-inch floating curved touchscreen display, angled towards the driver for ease of use. This liberates space in the minimalist cabin, with a new centre console and fewer physical buttons allowing for increased storage and wireless phone charging. Materials like leather-free wool blends and textiles give a premium yet sustainable feel.
Ensuring optimum air quality is the new Cabin Air Purification Plus system, monitoring gases and particulates and automatically adjusting settings to keep occupants healthy and alert. This joins Land Rover’s latest Pivi Pro infotainment with software updates delivered over-the-air to ensure maps, apps and vehicle settings are always up to date.
When it comes to engines, buyers are spoiled for choice. Smooth Ingenium petrol and diesel units are available alongside plug-in hybrid options, with all models featuring the brand’s famous all-wheel drive system for confidence on slippery surfaces. An intelligent torque distribution system sends power where it’s needed most given the conditions.
On the road, Land Rover’s advanced chassis technologies provide the composed ride and handling expected from the British marque. Prices start from R1,258,100 for the Evoque and R1,670,900 for the Velar. Order books are open now either online or at Land Rover retailers across South Africa.
