Acer’s latest gaming monitor bundle includes a streaming box

The Acer 240Hz gaming monitor is the focus of a new retail bundle at Computer Mania that also includes an AiTV streaming box. The package pairs a 27-inch Full HD display with the streamer and is priced at R3,499.

The promotion runs from 9 March to 23 March and follows the rollout of Acer’s locally assembled gaming monitors in South Africa. Customers who buy the 27-inch model during the campaign receive the streaming device as part of the bundle.

High refresh rate monitors remain a niche segment locally. Models capable of running at 240Hz often cost significantly more than standard displays, in part because most gaming hardware is imported. Acer says assembling certain monitors locally allows it to bring those specifications to market at a lower price.

“The response to our locally produced monitors has been fantastic,” said Bobbi Nyamane, marketing manager at Acer, describing the bundle as a way to mark the launch and highlight the company’s partnership with Computer Mania.

The monitor itself targets players who prioritise responsiveness. A 240Hz refresh rate allows the panel to display up to 240 frames per second, which can reduce motion blur in fast paced games.

The AiTV streaming box shifts the setup beyond gaming. It connects through HDMI and supports 4K playback with access to streaming apps such as Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video and Disney+.

Bundles like this have become a common way for retailers to move gaming hardware. Pairing a monitor with another device can make the purchase easier to justify for buyers who might otherwise delay upgrading their setup.

The promotion is available through Computer Mania stores and the retailer’s online shop. Stock is limited and the offer ends on 23 March.
