C-CONNECT, South Africa’s latest virtual mobile network operator (MVNO), has officially launched nationwide, bringing fresh competition and a new level of choice to the country’s mobile subscribers. Targeting savvy prepaid users, C-CONNECT aims to offer cost-effective, high-quality mobile services with a twist—customers are rewarded for their regular mobile spending.
The SIM-only, prepaid brand operates on C-Cell’s reliable network infrastructure and introduces an innovative rewards system that turns everyday mobile usage into tangible benefits. When customers top up their Airtime or Data, they earn 10% back in the form of Cha-Chings, an in-app currency. This currency can then be used to purchase a variety of lifestyle products and services, ranging from prepaid electricity and water to event tickets and gaming vouchers. This system not only enhances the value of mobile spending but also broadens the appeal of C-CONNECT’s offering.
To get started, new users can sign up through the C-CO NNECT app or website, opting for a SIM card to be delivered directly to their doorstep or to a chosen pickup location. For added convenience, the full RICA process can be completed online, eliminating the need for in-person visits to a store. Once registered, activating the ability to earn and spend Cha-Chings is straightforward—either by using the website, the C-CONNECT app, or by dialling *105#.
Topping up Airtime or Data is similarly user-friendly, with options available via the C-CONNECT app, online at c-connect.co.za, through USSD (*105#), or by purchasing vouchers from partner stores. Additionally, the service supports recharge through Ringas or Blu Voucher, offering a universal prepaid airtime solution. Notably, Data on the C-CONNECT app and Airtime via USSD is zero-rated, ensuring users can manage their accounts without worrying about extra data charges.
Richard Anderson, Chief Operating Officer at C-CONNECT, highlights the importance of the service in today’s challenging economic environment. “With the South African consumer’s finances under immense pressure, we anticipate strong demand for our MVNO offering. We’re excited to connect consumers with rewards and businesses with new ways to make their customers happy.”
Anderson adds, “What sets us apart in a competitive market is that we offer people meaningful rewards for buying voice and data, an essential everyone needs. It’s the most rewarding connection for South African cellular subscribers with no fuss and no frills, just a straightforward and simple way to access a world of prepaid services with added benefits. With C-Connect, we’re not just offering connectivity; we’re giving our customers the power to see real rewards from their mobile usage.”
