iStore has announced that pre-orders for the new iPhone 11 and 11 Pro are open and that devices will be delivered starting 27 September.
The standard iPhone 11 has a dual-camera setup unlike the Pro’s triple-camera and features a 720p LCD display unlike the OLED panel on the Pro variants.
While the starting price of R14 999.00 for the 64GB iPhone 11 is a pretty decent price for a “flagship” handset, the lower resolution display, paltry (non-expandable) 64GB base storage and the slow, outdated 5W charger are comprises that you shouldn’t have to deal with when paying that much for a phone.
Apple’s largest screen iPhone – the iPhone 11 Pro Max – has a 6.5-inch OLED display, a triple camera setup and maxes out at 512GB storage and costs up to R33 000.00, a full R7000.00 more than the Galaxy Note 10+. While the top of the line iPhone 11 Pro Max has 512GB non-expandable storage and a 6.5-inch OLED display, the Note 10+ has a 6.8-inch display, quad-camera setup, 256GB expandable storage, 12GB RAM, an S-Pen, reverse wireless charging and an in-box 25W fast charger (you can purchase a 45W charging brick separately if you want even faster charging speeds) which is faster than Apple’s new 18W charger.
If you’re locked into Apple’s ecosystem and need a new iPhone then the 11 non-Pro variant is probably the one you should get because it has most of what you need at a lower pricepoint. You can save even more money if you trade-in your current iPhone.
If you get your new device at iStore (iPhone 7 to iPhone 11) you’ll get free iCare Plus which includes a free*** screen replacement and 1-year Extended Warranty (2 years in total) valued at R1999. For more information about iCare Plus, please visit https://www.myistore.co.za/help-center/icare.
