HUAWEI Mate50 Pro Outshines Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in Key Areas

The smartphone market is ever-evolving, and in 2023, two major smartphone launches, the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra have drawn the attention of many users.

I firmly believe that the entire Android mobile ecosystem is worse off without HUAWEI in it. When the brand was at its peak it drove innovation and forced all other OEMs to do more for consumers, but now, all we see in the industry is stagnation with pretty much every phone looking nearly identical to its predecessor with only minor changes under the hood.

While Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra will cement its place at the top of the Android lineup for 2023, there are many areas where the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro is a better device.

Unlike the S23 Ultra which features a nearly identical design to last year, albeit with flatter sides and larger camera rings, the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro has evolved and refined its design from its predecessor to now feature an elegant, symmetrical Space Ring design combined with the time-honored Clous de Paris step-patterned embossing.

Secondly, the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro provides a more versatile rear camera, including the patented XMAGE technology, with an ultra aperture camera that offers 10 aperture sizes to achieve professional-level shots, unlike the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. While the S23 Ultra packs a 200MP main sensor, it’s not one that you’re going to use every day, unlike the main sensor of the Mat50 Pro which produces unparalleled quality, backed up by the fact that DXOMARK has the device ranked as the best smartphone camera.

Additionally, the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro offers more efficient charging speeds with the HUAWEI SuperCharge and 50W of wireless charging. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, in comparison, only offers 45W of fast charging – which can only be achieved by using the required charging brick which is not included in the box – and 10W wireless charging.

Finally, the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro is equipped with an EMUI 13’s low battery emergency mode, which offers an additional three hours of standby time and 12 minutes of calls, allowing users to continue using their smartphones even when the battery is low.

Moreover, the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro’s display is incredibly durable, and it can withstand falls and accidental drops. The HUAWEI Mate50 Pro’s 6.8-inch OLED display with a 2772×1344-pixel resolution is more durable than the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s display, which has a 3200×1440-pixel resolution. The HUAWEI Mate50 Pro uses a proprietary scratch-resistant technology that creates a surface that is twice as hard as traditional smartphone displays.

The HUAWEI Mate50 Pro is the superior choice over the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in several key areas, including an elegant design, versatile rear camera, efficient charging, long battery life and durability.
