HUAWEI’s nova 9 is now available in South Africa

Huawei’s latest “flagship smartphone for a younger generation”, the nova 9 is now available in South Africa.

Packed with a 50MP ultra-vision camera as well as an ultra-wide-angle camera, a macro camera, and a depth camera, the latest device in the nova series builds on one of Huawei’s smartphone pillars, mobile photography. These lenses combine to take sharp, high-quality images, whether you’re shooting portraits, panoramas, or close-ups. Their high light sensitivity allows them to capture 40% more light, which means your images will always appear crisp and detailed, even in low-light environments.

According to the company, the nova 9 does more than offer just great stills, it also offers “vlogging-worthy videos” thanks to the 32MP high-res front camera which supports 4K video and an AI image stabiliser. In theory, this means that you’ll be able to capture high-definition footage of yourself as you talk to your followers and fans.

Another stalwart of Huawei’s smartphone lineup, a great display, is found on the nova 9 which comes standard with an Original-Colour Curved Display that can show over 1 billion colours and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also boasts Device+ smart collaboration capabilities, which allow it to seamlessly integrate with other Huawei products.

The nova 9 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 4G and Huawei’s very own AI technology, which the company says will intelligently prioritise tasks and optimise performance for an even better experience, especially if you’re a gamer.

From a design perspective, the nova 9 measures just 7.77mm with a weight of only 175g. Available in Black, Huawei has also introduced a new Starry Blue colourway, which adds a unique texture to the chassis.

As with all new Huawei phones these days, the nova 9 does not ship with Google Mobile Services (GMS) and instead relies on the company’s Huawei Mobile Services (HMS).

Buy the HUAWEI nova 9 now, priced at R12,999 and you’ll receive a HUAWEI FreeLace valued at R1,499. Ts and Cs apply.
