In September, JoJo Tanks, South Africa’s largest water tank manufacturer, launched a remote water monitoring smartphone application called JoJo Monitor. This application is now available on both Apple and Android platforms.
In partnership with a local engineering company, JoJo has spent four years developing the JoJo Monitor application and three IoT devices. These devices are designed to monitor tank levels, measure water consumption, and detect water in various locations. The first of these devices is the JoJo Tank level monitor.
The JoJo Monitor application offers user-defined alerts and set-up, utilising Bluetooth for initial activation and testing and real-time monitoring when in close proximity to the device. Remote monitoring is facilitated through the Sigfox network, and each device comes with a free 12-month subscription to Sigfox. This allows for the sharing of information among multiple users.
The JoJo Tank level monitor employs radar technology, offering more precise readings by avoiding interference from the tank’s sides. Sebasti Badenhorst, Executive of Sales and Marketing for JoJo, explains that these remote level monitors enable users to manage water levels inside their tanks effectively.
Installation of the JoJo tank level monitor is flexible and can be customised for various tank types and configurations. The app is available for download on IOS, Google Play, and Android platforms. It was developed in South Africa by JoJo and is supported by a local call center.
JoJo Tanks, originally known for water storage solutions, has expanded its offerings to include rainwater harvesting, municipal backup, and associated accessories. To learn more about JoJo Tanks and their products, visit their official website at www.jojo.co.za.
