Microsoft’s Surface Pro 9, with 5G and up to 19 hours of battery life, now available in South Africa

Microsoft has launched its Surface Pro 9 in South Africa through its official distributor, Prima Interactive. The 2-in-1 device has a 13-inch touchscreen and offers an option of high-speed 5G connectivity. With up to 15.5 hours of battery life, Surface Pro 9 with Intel 12th Gen offers an ultra-fast Thunderbolt 4 port, making it perfect for full desktop productivity and gaming. Microsoft SQ3-powered Surface Pro 9 with 5G offers up to 19 hours of battery life, keeping users connected with high-speed 5G. The device is available in three colours: Platinum, Graphite and Sapphire with a Black Type Cover. Surface Pro 9 prices range from R26,999 for the Intel Core i5 with 256GB SSD and 8GB RAM variant, to R42 999 for the Intel Core i7 with 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM variant. To promote the launch of the Surface Pro 9, customers will receive a free Surface Slim Pen 2 valued at R2,699 upon purchasing a Surface Pro 9 device. The promotion is valid until 31 March 2023 or while stocks last. Surface Pro 9 can be purchased from Evetech, Hi Online/Bash, Incredible Connection, Takealot and Vodacom.

Surface Pro 9 is a versatile device that offers the flexibility of a tablet and the performance of a laptop, all in one ultra-portable device. It is a combination of the performance and battery life users need to get through their day. The device is incredibly lightweight, starting at 879 grams and features a virtually edge-to-edge 13-inch PixelSense touchscreen that allows users to sign, sketch or navigate with Surface Slim Pen 2. With its built-in Kickstand, users can adjust the angle for instant laptop productivity, making it perfect for a range of scenarios.

Surface Pro 9 offers a choice between two processors. The latest 12th Gen Intel Core processor offers incredible power and performance, with up to 50% more performance than Surface Pro 8. Thunderbolt 4 enables rapid data transfer, docking to multiple 4K displays or supporting an eGPU set-up. On the other hand, the Microsoft SQ3 processor provides fast 5G connectivity and ultra-long battery life, up to 19 hours. Additionally, it unlocks new AI features made possible through an entirely new Neural Processing Unit that transforms how users connect with the people in their life.

Surface Pro 9 is crafted with high-grade aluminium casing in a new set of anodised colours. The device has an iconic built-in Kickstand on one side and a 13-inch PixelSense display on the other. The edge-to-edge display on Surface Pro 9 has an up to 120Hz refresh rate. Underneath the display is an HD camera, Omnisonic speakers, directional microphones and Microsoft’s custom G6 chip. Combined with the new Ink Focus in Microsoft OneNote, or the new GoodNotes app coming in early 2023 to Windows 11, the company says that “digital ink on the screen feels like writing with pen and paper.”

The Surface Pro 9 is available in three colours: Platinum, Graphite and Sapphire with a Black Type Cover. Surface Pro 9 prices start at R26,999. To promote the launch of the Surface Pro 9, customers will receive a free Surface Slim Pen 2 valued at R2,699 upon purchasing a Surface Pro 9 device. The promotion is available from participating retailers and runs from 15 – 31 March 2023 (while stocks last).
