Netflix adds 5 new mobile games this May

Netflix is adding five new games to its mobile gaming service for subscribers this month. The lineup includes a mix of beloved classics and original releases across genres like platformers, puzzle adventures and interactive fiction.

Leading the charge on 7 May is Sonic Mania Plus, a retro-inspired side-scroller that lets you zip through levels as Sonic, Tails or Knuckles while collecting rings and battling bosses. It’s a nostalgic homage to the blue hedgehog’s glory days packed with Easter eggs for longtime fans.

Then on 14 May, the award-winning indie darling Braid Anniversary Edition arrives. This remastered platformer whisks you through surreal, time-bending worlds as you search for a lost princess. The Netflix edition has exclusive new levels, redrawn high-res graphics and fresh audio commentary.

For a cozier adventure, Paper Trail launches on 21 May. This delightful top-down puzzler unfurls in a folding paper world where you guide student Paige through new environments, meeting characters and solving conundrums.

Those who like a bit of choice-driven narrative can escape to Virgin River on 29 May with a new interactive fiction game based on the hit Netflix series. Make pivotal decisions to find community, fulfilment and romance in the small town.

Rounding out the month is the hard-boiled action platformer Katana Zero (release date TBA). You’re a deadly samurai assassin taking out enemies in instant-death combat, all rendered in stylish 16-bit pixel art.

The new arrivals join Netflix’s growing catalogue of games included with all subscriptions at no extra cost and no ads or in-app purchases. So settle in and get gaming this May!
