Peach Payments debuts enterprise POS terminal with BNPL support

Peach Payments has launched a new enterprise POS terminal in South Africa, targeting mid-sized and large merchants that want more flexibility at checkout. Called Digit Pro, the device supports a wide range of alternative payment methods including Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) and integrates seamlessly with existing business systems.

Legacy POS devices typically support card payment only. According to Peach Payments CEO Rahul Jain, Digit Pro goes further by allowing all transactions, regardless of payment method, to be viewed in a single dashboard. This includes BNPL options, which are increasingly popular online but have been absent from physical retail environments.

“To our knowledge, Digit Pro is the first POS terminal in South Africa that consolidates every transaction across all payment methods into one view,” says Jain. “Merchants want flexibility, visibility and integration. Digit Pro delivers on that.”

The launch aligns with findings from the Worldwide Worx Online Retail Report 2024, which notes strong growth in BNPL usage across e-commerce in South Africa. Consumers want more choice, and merchants are under pressure to meet that demand across both online and offline channels.

Digit Pro has been in testing with high-volume enterprises processing over R500,000 per month since late 2024. The device’s checkout flow can be customised to include inventory tracking, loyalty rewards, and order management. It is compatible with bespoke merchant apps and also includes a plug-and-play app library.

This makes it especially appealing to omnichannel businesses that want to use one payments partner and simplify their integration process.

“We’ve built sector-specific apps for use cases like retail, restaurants, ticketing and even insurance,” says Jain. “You can run everything from your front-of-house to your member database on one device.”

iTickets, a ticketing platform, tested Digit Pro at events earlier this year. Managing Director Albertus Potgieter says the solution made a significant difference.

“Customers can now pay with cards or digital wallets at the door,” he says. “We integrated the inventory app directly into the device, which helped us manage seating in real time. Plus, we now track online and in-person ticket sales in one place.”

The device supports a growing list of payment methods including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Mobicred, Float, Payflex, 1Voucher, Capitec Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and RCS. More are expected to be added.

Digit Pro is available now to South African merchants. A launch in Mauritius is planned for 2026, with further regional expansion dependent on regulatory conditions.
