Samsung Galaxy A34 and A54 leak

Samsung is set to launch new versions of its popular mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A34 and A54. According to Winfuture, the Galaxy A54 5G features a 6.4-inch SuperAMOLED display with 2340 x 1080 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. It’s powered by the new Samsung Exynos 1380 octa-core SoC and comes with 8GB RAM and either 128 or 256GB of internal flash memory which is expandable up to 1TB via MicroSD card. It also features a new main camera with a 50MP main sensor and a 32MP selfie camera, as well as two SIM card slots, WiFi 6, Bluetooth, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The Galaxy A54 5G is IP67 certified and has a 5000mAh battery.

The Galaxy A34 5G is slightly larger than the A54 5G with a 6.6-inch SuperAMOLED display with the same resolution and refresh rate. It’s said to be powered by a MediaTek chipset and will with either 6 or 8GB RAM and either 128 or 256GB storage, expandable up to 1TB with a MicroSD card. The main camera features a 48MP sensor, while the front camera is 13MP. Like the A54 5G, it’s IP67 certified and has a 5000mAh battery.

Both models are expected to support 25-watt fast charging. The Galaxy A54 5G is likely to cost around 500 euros, while the Galaxy A34 5G is expected to cost just under 400 euros, though these prices are subject to change.

Noticeably absent is a successor to the Galaxy A73 5G, which makes sense considering that Samsung’s recent earnings report which highlighted a “decline in revenue and profit due to weak demand in the mid-to-low end segments.” This resulted in the company shifting focus to higher end, premium devices.

This streamlining could also impact the premium S-series with Samsung rumoured to be dropping the Plus variant of the upcoming S24 line.
