Sony WF-C710N noise-cancelling earbuds launch in South Africa

Sony is expanding its truly wireless lineup in South Africa with the introduction of the WF-C710N noise-cancelling earbuds. Combining advanced noise cancellation, clear call quality, and an extended battery life, the WF-C710N aims to deliver premium features at a more accessible price point. Sony is also refreshing its existing WH-CH720N and WH-CH520 headphone models with new pastel colour options.

Glass Blue WF-C710N

Immersive sound with Active Noise Cancellation

The WF-C710N earbuds leverage Sony’s Dual Noise Sensor technology to filter out external noise using dual microphones. This enhances the listening experience, ensuring that users can fully immerse themselves in their music without interruptions. For those who prefer some level of awareness, Ambient Sound mode allows external sounds to be heard naturally, with customisable levels available via the Sony | Sound Connect app.

Adaptive Sound Control further enhances the experience by adjusting ambient noise settings based on a user’s location and activity, making the transition from work to home or gym seamless.

Extended battery life and AI-powered call clarity

Designed for all-day use, the WF-C710N provides up to 30 hours of total battery life with the charging case. A quick 5-minute charge delivers an extra 60 minutes of playback, making it ideal for users on the go.

For calls, Sony’s AI-driven Precise Voice Pickup Technology ensures clear conversations even in noisy environments. Trained on over 500 million voice samples, the system optimally suppresses background noise, allowing voices to come through with clarity.

Customisable sound and stylish colours

Equipped with Sony’s Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) and a 5mm driver unit, the WF-C710N offers well-balanced audio with deep bass and clear vocals. Users can further personalise their listening experience via the EQ Custom feature in the Sony | Sound Connect app.

The earbuds come in four colour options: Glass Blue, Pink, White, and Black, all housed in a compact, easy-to-carry cylindrical case. The sleek design ensures comfort, while the IPX4 rating adds durability against splashes and sweat.

Intuitive controls and seamless connectivity

With touch controls, users can easily manage playback, volume, and calls with a simple tap. Additional features include multi-point Bluetooth connectivity, allowing seamless switching between two devices, and Quick Access to preferred music services without opening an app.

Eco-conscious packaging and availability

Sony continues its sustainability efforts with plastic-free packaging for the WF-C710N. The earbuds will be available in South Africa from June 2025 at an estimated price of R2 999.

New pastel colourways for WH-CH720N and WH-CH520

Alongside the WF-C710N launch, Sony is introducing pastel pink and yellow options for its WH-CH720N and WH-CH520 headphones, catering to the growing demand for softer, more muted tones. These refreshed models will be available in May 2025, priced at R2 499 for the WH-CH720N and R999 for the WH-CH520.
