Sony’s Cape Town Creators Convention set to inspire region’s talent

Content creators across Cape Town are gearing up for Sony‘s inaugural Creators Convention on 24 February 2024. The event aims to bring together and support local photography, videography, and digital content talent.

Held at the M Studios in Cape Town, the convention boasts an impressive speaker lineup. This includes renowned South African filmmakers and Sony Alpha Ambassadors ready to share industry insights. Ofentse Mwase, co-founder of OM Films, will be discussing storytelling techniques and maximising digital platforms like YouTube. While trail runner and time-lapse photographer Mike Eloff plans workshops on travel content creation. Demonstrating how he harnesses Cape Town’s dramatic landscapes using Sony kit.

Discussing the event, Jobin Joejoe, Deputy MD at Sony Middle East and Africa said, “We’re committed to empowering creators as they navigate an ever-changing digital landscape.”

The jam-packed schedule features workshops and hands-on sessions throughout the day. Creators can develop skills from viral content creation to brand collaborations in the age of influencers. The idea being to help local talent better understand the country’s evolving digital creative sphere.

The event also promises valuable networking amongst attending brands. With the likes of Sony, Suzuki, nanlite and more offering chances for creatives to engage with industry-leading gear and insight.
