vivo has officially unveiled its new flagship foldable device, the X Fold3 Pro. The smartphone combines a slim and light foldable design with top-tier hardware and an emphasis on productivity-focused software powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
In terms of design, the X Fold3 Pro measures just 5.2mm thick when unfolded, making it one of the slimmest foldable phones currently available. Despite the thin profile, vivo has implemented durability features like an aramid fibre hinge rated for 500,000 folds, Armour Glass on the cover display, and IPX8 water resistance. The device weighs 236 grams.
The X Fold3 Pro packs flagship specifications including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 12GB RAM, and an advanced cooling system. It features a foldable 2K AMOLED main display with 4500 nits peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a 7.8-inch QHD+ AMOLED outer display.
Camera capabilities are a focus area, with vivo collaborating with ZEISS on the quad camera setup. This includes a large 1/1.3-inch main sensor, a 3x telephoto lens, an ultra-wide lens, and software features like Telephoto Sunshot and Multifocal Portrait mode.
On the software side, the X Fold3 Pro runs vivo’s FunTouch OS tailored for foldable devices and productivity. It includes split-screen multitasking capabilities and AI-powered tools like Note Assist for intelligent note-taking, Global Translation for overcoming language barriers, and Transcript Assist for converting recordings to text.
The device also incorporates security and privacy features such as a hardened security chip and audio directionality control for private calls.
vivo is positioning the X Fold3 Pro as a flagship foldable that combines a thin and light design with high-end specifications and an emphasis on enhancing productivity through AI capabilities. Pricing and availability details have not been announced yet.
