ASUS has taken the wraps off the Vivobook S 15, its inaugural Copilot+ PC crammed with Windows AI tools. Powered by Qualcomm’s brawny Snapdragon X Elite chip, this 15.6-inch laptop aims to elevate your work, study, creativity, and entertainment through advanced AI capabilities.
At an online event, ASUS joined forces with Microsoft and Qualcomm to showcase the Vivobook S 15’s AI prowess. “As ASUS embarks on this journey, marked by the launch of our first AI PC, we stand at the beginning of a new era of personal computing,” proclaimed ASUS Co-CEO S.Y. Hsu.
Microsoft’s Mark Linton hailed the collaboration, stating it “allows us to bring innovative hardware that unlocks AI software to life for our customers.” Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon echoed similar sentiments, thrilled “to bring industry-leading innovation to consumers and enterprises.”
At the heart of the Vivobook S 15 lies the Snapdragon X Elite, boasting a formidable 45 Neural TOPS for swift on-device AI processing. It leverages this muscle for features like Windows Studio Effects for enhanced video calls, an AI camera with adaptive dimming/locking, and live captions. Uniquely, it debuts ASUS’s exclusive StoryCube app for AI-assisted media management.
But the AI capabilities are merely one facet of this portable powerhouse. It combines a stunning 3K 120Hz OLED display, Harman Kardon audio with Dolby Atmos, and a svelte 14.7mm, 1.42kg metal chassis. Other highlights include up to 18 hours of battery life, fast charging, WiFi 7 connectivity, and a generous array of ports.
The Vivobook S 15 is available for pre-order from 20 May at 23:00, priced at R29,999, with shipments commencing 18 June from ASUS’s online store and select retailers.
