Images of the Samsung Galaxy S23 leak ahead of launch

Expected to be unveiled at the first Unpacked event for 2023, Samsung’s Galaxy S23 has leaked.

In an article on WinFuture, reliable leaker, Roland Quandt, has shown off the device nearly three weeks ahead of its official unveiling.

According to Quandt’s article, these images are official marketing images from Samsung and not fan-made renders. If these images prove to be authentic then it appears that the rumours surrounding the iterative design update of the S23 are correct and that the only noticeable change is the fact that Samsung has opted to remove the camera housing first introduced with the S22 and S21 in favour of the protruding camera lense design found on the S22 Ultra and Galaxy A14 5G. While the front and back of the S23 are flat, the sides of the device appear to be slightly rounded (most likely to make the device more ergonomic to hold) with some having likened the design to that of the iPhone XR.

Supporting these leaked images and barely iterative design updates is a tweet from well-known skins and case maker, dbrand linking through to their pre-order page for the S23 series.

Case manufacturers traditionally have access to pre-release mock ups or renders of a device in order to have accessories availble for it as soon as the device is unveiled.

The S23 series will be available in four colours: Phantom Black, Misty Lilac, Botanic Green and Cotton Flower and these are expected to be available across the entire S23 lineup including the Ultra.

While specs have not yet been confirmed, the S23 series is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in Europe and come with a new brighter OLED display and higher resolution camera sensors with improved low-light performance.

The Galaxy S23 Unpacked event will take place at 8pm CAT and can be watched here.
