Apple TV app officially launches on Android

Apple has officially launched the Apple TV app for Android devices, allowing Android users to stream Apple TV+ content and subscribe to MLS Season Pass for the first time. Available worldwide via the Google Play Store, the app is compatible with Android phones, tablets, and foldables, offering a seamless viewing experience with key features like Continue Watching and Watchlist.

With this release, Android users can subscribe to Apple TV+ directly through their Google Play accounts, gaining access to hit Apple Originals such as Severance, The Morning Show, Ted Lasso, and Masters of the Air. The app also supports offline viewing, making it easy to download content for later.

Just in time for the 2025 Major League Soccer season, the app also includes MLS Season Pass, giving fans access to every MLS match without blackouts. The service features exclusive content, in-depth analysis, and coverage of all 30 MLS clubs, with the season kicking off on February 22. Additionally, Apple TV+ subscribers can enjoy Friday Night Baseball and the newly introduced Sunday Night Soccer.

Apple TV+ may not have the same massive catalogue as Netflix or Disney+, but it has built a strong reputation for high-quality original content. From CODA, which won an Oscar, to Ted Lasso, an Emmy favorite, its library has steadily grown with critically acclaimed films and series. Bringing the Apple TV app to Android is a practical move — Apple is recognising that great content should be accessible, no matter what device you use.
