Celebrate your school, share your story, and win R50,000

South African school communities still have R200,000 to play for in the Edgars x SuperSport Schools At Our School competition, after Dale College Boys’ High School and Empangeni High School became the first two schools to each win R50,000.

The campaign is built around a simple idea: every school has moments worth celebrating, whether that is a sporting triumph, an academic achievement, a long-standing tradition, or a community initiative that quietly changes lives. It also fits into a broader moment for South African education, where schools are increasingly being recognised for innovation and impact, as seen in Reframed’s coverage of the Excellence in Education Awards.

Two schools have already won

Dale College Boys’ High School and Empangeni High School have each received R50,000 towards an initiative of their choice, becoming the competition’s first winners.

That leaves R200,000 still available, with four more schools set to win R50,000 each. Individuals who enter also stand a chance to win R500 Edgars vouchers.

The competition is not only about rewarding a single viral post. It is designed to turn school pride into practical support, giving communities a chance to secure funding for projects and initiatives that can have a lasting impact.

Every school has a story

From team photos and school spirit to academic milestones and community outreach, schools remain one of South Africa’s most powerful sources of connection and opportunity. At Our School gives learners, parents, educators, coaches, alumni and the wider community a platform to celebrate those moments.

“Schools play an extraordinary role in shaping young people and bringing communities together,” said Norman Drieselmann, CEO of Retailability (Pty) Ltd. “At Edgars, we want to recognise that contribution and help schools with what they need most. At Our School gives every school community a chance to turn its pride into something that can make a meaningful difference.”

Thando Bakumeni, Head of SuperSport Schools, said the campaign is about more than the prizes.

“Every school has a story worth telling,” Bakumeni said. “Through At Our School, we are giving learners, parents, educators and communities a platform to celebrate the moments that make their schools special. Beyond the competition itself, this campaign is about recognising school pride, building stronger communities, and helping schools access funding that can make a lasting difference.”

How to enter

Entering takes a photo, a video and a few well-placed tags. Participants need to post on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok, showcase what makes their school special, and make sure the post includes the school’s name.

  • Post a photo or video on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok showing what makes your school special.
  • Include your school’s name.
  • Tag @EdgarsFashion and @SuperSportSchools.
  • Use #AtOurSchool together with your school’s hashtag, such as #DaleCollege.

Schools, coaches, partners, parents, learners, alumni and community members can all enter. If you are already posting school pride on social media, simply add the required tags and hashtags to qualify.

More posts, more chances

One post equals one entry, and the more a school community posts, the greater its chances of winning. With four R50,000 prizes still up for grabs, the campaign is encouraging communities to showcase the people, achievements and moments that make their schools unique.

Entries close on 20 November 2026. Full competition details are available on the Edgars At Our School page.
