TECNO is set to launch its latest smartphone, the SPARK 20 Pro 5G, in South Africa this month. This new device promises to deliver a compelling mix of high-end features and value for money, potentially shaking up the mid-range smartphone market.
At the heart of the SPARK 20 Pro 5G is an octa-core processor paired with 5G connectivity, positioning it as a device ready for the next generation of mobile networks. The phone comes with a generous 256GB of storage and up to 16GB of RAM (8GB physical + 8GB extended), ensuring smooth performance for multitasking and storage-hungry apps.
Photography enthusiasts will likely be drawn to the phone’s camera system. The rear setup is headlined by a 108MP Ultra Sensing camera, featuring 3x lossless in-sensor zoom and 10x digital zoom. TECNO has also packed in some AI-powered features, including 9-in-1 Adaptive Pixel technology and Super Night Mode, aimed at improving low-light performance.

Set to retail at R10,999, the SPARK 20 Pro 5G will be available in South Africa from early July. It joins TECNO’s broader SPARK 20 lineup, which includes more budget-friendly options like the SPARK 20 (R6,999), SPARK 20P (R4,999), SPARK 20C (R2,999), and SPARK GO 2024 (R1,999).
While TECNO may not be a household name in some markets, the SPARK 20 Pro 5G’s spec sheet suggests it could be a serious contender in the increasingly competitive mid-range smartphone segment.
