Fujifilm South Africa has unveiled its latest addition to the Instax line-up of cameras and printers, the Instax Pal. This pocket-sized camera, weighing in at a mere 41 grams, is designed for those who want to seize the moment without the distraction of smartphones. With its 4.9MP sensor and the ability to store up to 50 photos internally, the Instax Pal offers a unique blend of convenience and creativity.
One standout feature of the Instax Pal is its seamless connectivity. Through Bluetooth, the camera can effortlessly transfer images to your smartphone via the free Instax Pal app. This enables users to share their memories on social media platforms, complete with the iconic Instax frames that have become synonymous with instant photography.
The Instax Pal caters to various shooting scenarios with its diverse shooting modes. In Standard mode, a simple press of the shutter button captures moments as they unfold. For those seeking the perfect selfie, the wide-angle lens allows for dynamic shots with a broader background.
The Remote mode takes advantage of Bluetooth connectivity, enabling users to view and manage their photos on a paired smartphone in real-time. Finally, the Interval mode is perfect for capturing sequences with intervals of three seconds, available in sequences of 3, 6, 11, or 21 shots. These sequences can then be transformed into captivating flipbook videos using the Instax Pal app. Sharing these videos is a breeze, thanks to QR codes printed on the Instax prints.
One of the Instax Pal’s standout features is its compatibility with the Instax Link series of instant printers. This allows for direct printing on Instax Mini, Square, or Wide film, offering a traditional touch to the modern world of photography.
The Instax Pal also comes with a Multifunction Ring Accessory, serving as a safeguard strap, viewfinder, and camera stand. It’s equipped with a built-in speaker for customisable pre-shutter sounds, which users can record via the app.
In terms of battery life, the Instax Pal boasts a built-in lithium-ion battery capable of capturing approximately 240 frames per charge. Charging is a breeze with the included USB Type-C cable.
The release of the Instax Pal coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Fujifilm instant photo system, first launched in 1998. It will be available in South Africa in an array of five vibrant colors: Lavender Blue, Powder Pink, Milky White, Gem Black, and Pistachio Green. The local release date and retail price are yet to be confirmed.
