Google Launches New Conversational AI Service ‘Bard’ Powered by LaMDA for Enhanced User Experience

In a blog post, Google and Alphabet CEO, Sundar Pichai, announced that the company is set to take a major step forward in their AI journey, as they launch their experimental conversational AI service, Bard. Bard will use Google’s LaMDA technology and draw on information from the web to provide “fresh, high-quality responses.”

Following on the heels of Microsoft’s partnership with Open AI, Google’s initial release of Bard will come with a lightweight model version of LaMDA, which will require less computing power, enabling the technology to scale to more users, and receive more feedback. Google says that the feedback received during this phase of testing will be combined with its internal testing to ensure that Bard’s responses meet high standards for quality, safety, and accuracy.
